'Call the Doctor' was culled from some recent home-recording sessions in preparation for the Fall release of '24 First Cuts', a series of short and mid-form phrases, suggestions and small songs recorded in the Lipstik loft.  The focus for much of the songs is to build the rhythm first and work towards melody second.  This tune is a simple two chord progression in a using the notion of a dance-folk experiment as a jumping-off point.  The song also began with the cover image itself.  A sunset on the Upper West Side, an ambulance waiting on the street, an old man on a gurney, lifted into the back of the van, heading towards the hospital.
