An interpretation of the song 'Yer So Bad' from Tom Petty's landmark album 'Full Moon Fever'. As I did with The Eagles 'Lyin Eyes', I tried to deconstruct and reinterpret the song slowing it down and adding cello, piano and Leonard Cohen-inspired vocals. I used to sit in my living room in El Salvador when I was young and play Final Fantasy on Nintendo for hours listening to 'Full Moon Fever' on repeat. Through the window, our yard, and then the low skyline of the Salvadoran neighborhoods and then, in the distance, the volcano, dormant, watching over the city. A preview of Lipstik's forthcoming EP 'There Is Only One Thing' featuring similar arrangements and ideas. Sad songs deconstructing a painful period. Please enjoy. |
